MRTF Green Award Winners Announced!

Winners of the first ever Midwest Regional Turf Foundation (MRTF) Green Awards were announced just a few weeks ago at the Indiana Green Expo in Indianapolis during the MRTF Distinguished Service Award Reception. The purpose of this award is to recognize MRTF member facilities that show outstanding environmental stewardship, who implement the highest standard of management practices and who continue to improve the quality of the Turf Industry.

We were privileged to get an in depth look at several excellent member facilities. The Green Award applications were submitted for consideration to the MRTF Green Awards Committee. Although several of these were quite impressive, only two emerged as winners in their particular industry category:

• Golf division - Victoria National Golf Club, of Newburgh, IN
• Athletic Field division – Warrior Park, Covenant Christian High School of Indianapolis, IN

These awards were given in recognition of outstanding environmental stewardship efforts and commitment to advancing the turf industry. As promised the winning submissions can be found on our website, https://www.mrtf.org/mrtf-green-award.html 

The submission webpage for the second annual Green Awards will be open soon to accept 2014 applicants in the golf, lawn care, and athletic field divisions. Next year at this time it could be your facility that is being honored.


The Midwest Regional Turf Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation that supports turfgrass research and education at Purdue University for the betterment of the turf industry.
